Choosing a hotel in Victoria Falls is a vital component of your vacation, but it can be a daunting task given the wide variety on offer. The closest hotels to the actual waterfall are the Victoria Falls Hotel, the Kingdom Hotel and the Ilala Lodge. These three hotels are less than a 10-minute walk from the entrance gate to the falls. The Sprayview and Rainbow hotels are located within the city center no more than 2 km apart. Then just beyond are the Elephant Hills Hotel, the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge and the A Zambezi Hotel. These last three hotels are not within walking distance of the falls, but instead are within walking distance of regular free buses that transport guests to the center of town and to the waterfall.

Whichever activities you choose to do, for example a sunset cruise, white water rafting or maybe an elephant safari, the tour operator will pick you up for free from any of these hotels, so in this case the location It is not a problem.


As with most holiday destinations, there is accommodation to suit all budgets. The Sprayview and Rainbow hotels offer the cheapest accommodation, closely followed by the Kingdom, Elephant Hills and A Zambezi hotels. Victoria Falls Hotel is steeped in history. The colonial luxury and marketplace has hosted dignitaries and royalty from around the world.

Kingdom Hotel is a family-oriented hotel with great pools and has a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Featuring stunning architecture, the entire hotel is inspired by the ruins of Great Zimbabwe.

Ilala Lodge is a smaller hotel with just 32 rooms ensuring personalized and intimate service, not very suitable for young children.

Sprayview Hotel has motel style accommodations. It is quite old, hence its cheap price, but it is a good, relaxed and friendly accommodation, ideal for solo tourists and large groups on a budget.

Rainbow Hotel has good, clean accommodation without the bells and whistles. It suits families and anyone who is more interested in the destination than the hotel, but still wants to be comfortable.

Elephant Hills Hotel is a huge hotel located on top of the highest hill in the area, with beautiful wide views of the Zambezi River. It is home to the only golf course in the area that used to be a championship course. Another great family hotel.

Victoria Falls Safari Lodge is unlike any other hotel, it is more like one of the Safari Lodges that are further out of town. This lodge overlooks its own watering hole that is regularly frequented by wildlife of all kinds. This is the only hotel that offers this type of safari experience.

Finally, the A Zambezi Hotel, which is undergoing a major refurbishment, is the only hotel located on the banks of the Zambezi River. This aspect alone distinguishes it from the other hotels. Good quality relaxed family accommodation.
