Running errands and organizing your house requires a few essential items and therefore the article will walk you through the top 7 items listed according to the people surveyed:

1. TV stands

Your living room is the signature of your house and therefore you need to get the best furniture for it. Whether you’re sitting alone watching the news, snuggling up with friends and family to watch a great movie, or listening to music through your TV, investing in a good TV stand is key to creating a focal point in your living space.

2. Coffee tables

Coffee tables are fantastic additions to your living room/study. Personally, I use my coffee table frequently, but rarely to hold my coffee (looks amazing with a glass of wine, too!). A coffee table can do a lot for a room: it can warm it up as you add books and knick-knacks, it can place items on it (without spilling onto the sofa), or it can simply be a statement piece that looks good alongside your furniture.

3. Kitchen or dining room table

Before I had kids, I was never worried about sitting at a table. It had a kitchen table, but never hosted a meal. Instead, it was my drop zone for my wallet, keys, mail, etc. Now happily married with 3.5 year old twins, the table has become part of our daily lives. There is something incredibly special about having a meal together around the table. I come from a family that ate at the snack tables in the living room while watching TV. While there is nothing wrong with watching TV while eating, there was no conversation or participation. Sitting at our table every night is something I look forward to and therefore feel like an essential.

4. A good mattress

After a day full of hard work and play, you and your children need a comfortable place to rest your head and get a good night’s sleep. I didn’t even know I had a terrible mattress until I bought a new one. My sleep quality was remarkable. I was sleeping all night! Everyone can say they have a mattress, but can they say they have a good one?

5. Bookstore

Having books lying around always makes me feel disorganized and messy. Since investing in a study room at home can be a hassle (not to mention expensive), you can buy a bookcase to store your books for a nice display. The bookshelves give it an organized look and you can always retrieve the book you need to read while replacing the one you’re not currently reading.

6. Bath towels

Have you ever walked into a friend’s bathroom and noticed their towels? I can say that it is one of the things that I always notice. Tell me if you care what his bathroom looks like. I love walking into a bathroom that has towels hanging on the towel rails and good quality towels hanging over the shower. If I’m going to be a guest who needs to shower, I expect them to provide great quality towels to dry off with.

7. Children’s table

Another article I never thought I would write about! Children’s tables are essential if you have a child. I have found that my kids use their table for EVERYTHING! It’s their arts and crafts space, their dolls’ ice skating rink, the location of their tea parties… I think having a kid’s table or a small picnic table allows kids to have their own space ; they know you can’t fit in there. It’s just for them.
