If you are an aviation enthusiast and like to wander around the airport and talk about planes, then perhaps you could consider a side business of becoming an airplane salesman by charging a small finders fee. This is not too difficult a business and will allow you to spend more time flying and having fun. Plus, you’ll be able to fly all the planes you’re trying to sell for those sellers who are too busy.

As long as you like hanging out at the airport, you might consider such a business. The average search engine fee can vary from two to 3%. So if the plane costs $100,000, your commission would be 2% which would be $2000 or 3% which would be $3000. All you would have to do is introduce the seller to the buyer or the buyer to the seller.

This is a great way to make money at the airport and be able to fly all kinds of planes on someone else’s fuel bill. When I was young, this is how I built flight hours and made money. It was a lot of fun and I would recommend it to anyone. If you’re retired and like to fly, but don’t own a plane, this could be a way to get your butt up in the air instead of sitting on the ground like all normal people.

The first thing you need to get started is to get some business cards and a notebook or you can make lists of all the people you know who are selling their planes and the ones you know who were walking around the ramp looking in the plane windows and looking for dirty signals. Every time a plane is sold, you still have your buyers list and even look at other airports for more planes to put on your list. Please consider this in 2006.
