1.Autodesk Homestyler
With Autodesk Homestyler, you can create floor plans by dragging and dropping rooms, doors, and furniture. You can also view your designs in 2D and 3D format.
Once a plan is made, you can save it to the design gallery and invite friends to view it by sending an email or posting a link on Facebook. The design can also be shared on other websites, printed, or saved as a JPG, DWG, or RVT format for other software.
On the website (www.homestyler.com), you can see several example designs for the kitchen, bathroom, dining room, garage, and more that were made by other users. This is great for getting an idea of designs that other people have come up with.
You can start making a floor plan by clicking the “Start Now” button. Using menus like build, furnish, and landscape, you can draw rooms and walls, furnish bathrooms, furniture, and electronics, and place landscapes like grass and pond. Clicking the 2D and 3D button allows you to view the floor plan immediately in each mode.
2. Floor planner
Floorplanner has almost the same features as Autodesk Homestyler, such as the drag and drop tool to make floor plans. You can use the same 2D and 3D formatting and built-in library for doors, bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and furniture.
However, there are two main differences with Autodesk Homestyler. First, Floorplanner has a very detailed tutorial that guides you step by step in making the plan. Second, Floorplanner’s 3D rendering is a bit slower than Autodesk Homestyler’s. If you need a detailed guide to make floor plans, you must try this software. Which to choose?
In summary, if you already have some experience in creating floor plans, Autodesk Homestyler is recommended. If you need a friendly step-by-step tutorial, give Floorplanner a try. In terms of pricing, Autodesk Homestyler looks better as it is completely free compared to Floorplanner with a free account with some limitations. Of course, price alone can’t help you determine your choice. Give both programs a try and find out the one that best suits your purpose.
