I have suffered from recurrent yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis and have tried everything I can to cure myself of this horrible problem. Over the counter drugs [tried them] Prescription drugs [tried them] change in diet [tried it] home remedies [tried most of them].

After all these things, I kept fighting this condition, so I started looking for other holistic natural remedies that could address all areas of the problem.

I came across information saying that boric acid was a great home remedy for yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis, and after doing a lot of research and reading about other women’s concerns, I came up with a plan. instead of buying pre-made boric acid suppositories (like yeast arrest which most people find ineffective) I wanted to make my own (which are probably better) 🙂

I know that optimal vaginal health consists of a balanced PH of around 4.5 and that there needs to be a balance in the vaginal flora for things to be considered healthy. However, it is a difficult task to keep those things under control when you mix stress, poor diet, sex, inappropriate feminine products, etc. in the situation. But I think I have a solution that can help us all.

Here is my recipe for homemade boric acid suppositories. Will need:

* Pharma Grade Boric Acid Powder (I bought mine at CVS Pharmacy, but you can find it online or at your local pharmacy or health food store for about $ 5- $ 7)

* Organic coconut oil (available at any supermarket or grocery store or health food store for around $ 6 to $ 8)

* Ice stick tray (the one that makes thin ice sticks that you can use to put inside a water bottle – I found mine at a dollar store for $ 1 and it makes 10 ice sticks per tray)

* probiotics (buy probiotics in capsule form; make sure they contain Lactobacillus acidophilus; it can be any brand you want; I used the probiotic CP-1, which is one of the best brands out there)

Step 1: Measure out 1/2 cup of coconut oil and melt until smooth (about 1 minute in the microwave should be enough. You want to have 1/2 cup of melted coconut oil)

Step 2: Pour the melted coconut oil into a bowl and add 2 teaspoons of boric acid powder (DO NOT PLACE SPOONS – MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT EXCEED THE BORIC ACID POWDER)

Step 3: Open your probiotic capsules and empty the contents into your mix (you can put as much as you like, just make sure you don’t make your solution too dusty because it won’t harden properly)

Step 4: Mix the solution well with a fork or mini whisk and try to remove as many lumps as possible.

Step 5: Carefully pour your solution into the ice tray by filling each mold and then place the ice tray in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes or until completely solid.

Keep suppositories frozen until ready to use because they melt easily. The ice stick tray makes the suppositories a bit elongated, so I split mine in half and used half twice a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon before bed. They are easy to insert, so you shouldn’t have a problem. Just be sure to take them as far as possible for the best results. Also, be sure to wear a panty protector while using the supplies because they will leak.

Follow this regimen for about 14 days and you should be fine. However, use your own discretion. If you think you may need a prolonged regimen due to persistent and recurring infections, go for it. This home remedy is safe and can be used whenever you experience any vaginal discomfort and only you know what works for your body.

You shouldn’t feel any discomfort because coconut oil has a soothing, lubricating effect and also has antifungal properties, so it also kills yeast. Boric acid has antibacterial and antifungal properties, so it will kill yeast and bacteria that cause BV; it also helps restore vaginal pH. Probiotics help to replenish the vaginal flora, which will help restore the pH balance and overall health of the vagina.

I hope this helps someone.
