Executive MBA courses, also known as EMBA courses offered by the IIMs, are popular and also quite competitive. In fact, the admission process is quite similar to other MBA courses offered by the institutes, which makes the competition even more difficult. Compared to regular courses, these EMBA courses are also exclusively designed for working professionals and are also considered niche programs that emphasize improving your managerial skills.

Teaching methodology:

Among various executive MBA programs at IIM, few programs are residential and non-residential. Compared to non-residential programs, residential courses are comparatively higher and you also have to change the usual work schedule or even take breaks from the office. In addition, students who enroll in EMBA programs through distance learning are required to attend special classes or virtual learning sessions that are usually held on weekends or other holidays. As a result, students who are also working in the office do not find it difficult to attend these special classes.

Admission process

For admission to EMBA courses at the IIMs, eligible candidates must pass the CAT or Common Admission Test, conducted by the IIMs annually. Otherwise, GMAT scores are also valid for admission. Once a candidate scores this exam, the qualified candidate must participate in a group discussion session as well as a round of individual interviews. However, the GD round has been replaced by another difficult written exam like the ‘Common Analysis Test’ which would help to test your communication skill as well as your comprehension skills and some more.
