The US Supreme Court has ruled that casino sports betting is legal in some states. In Connecticut, legal sports wagering has begun on March 11, 2020. The “Lawful Sports Betting Act” was signed into law by Governor Gretchen Whitmer. The legislation allows players to bet on a variety of sports, including college contests. In Montana, a 28-page bill legalizing sports betting was signed by Governor Steve Bullock. The sports betting industry in Montana is safe because the state has a long-standing reputation for integrity.
While New York is the only state that does not allow sports betting on college sports, the state could announce nine sportsbook operators within the next few weeks. As of now, the state has retail sports betting in upstate casinos, but does not allow it online. While Connecticut has not yet legalized online sports betting, the state’s two tribal casinos have launched retail sports betting in the state. Those casinos, along with several others, offer a variety of options for customers, such as mobile and live casino games.
