If you’ve ever wanted to paint on coffee mugs, tea cups, or bowls, you may have wondered if there was a paint on the market that was microwave safe. Through my experience with painting, I have tried different types of paints and recently found one that claims to be not only dishwasher safe, but also microwave safe. This wonderful product is the Pebeo 150 Paint.

This product is very durable. Bonds well to many different types of glass, including porcelain and clear glass, such as wine glasses and martini glasses. It is very transparent, almost looking like stained glass when painted on clear glass. The paint may be a bit thicker to work with and may not flow as easily as other products. You can use applicator bottles or brushes. If you want to make it more opaque, consider adding some ivory-colored paint to the colors you’ve chosen. This works fine as a second color, if you’re using the One Stroke method.

This paint behaves differently than working with regular acrylic craft paint. It may take a bit of experimentation to master your technique, however, once you find which methods work best for you, the end product is simply excellent. It will be able to withstand frequent use.

It is imperative that the instructions be followed when using this paint. The 24 hour drying time before baking is really important. If you bake it too soon, it could cause the paint to bubble and ruin your design. You don’t want to spend all that time working on your design and then having to throw it away because you didn’t let it air dry long enough. Be patient and you will have a beautiful piece of art when you are done. Go ahead and get to work!
