Deciding to have IUI is a big step in your fertility journey, and you will probably start wondering on the day of insemination whether or not you will get pregnant. However, as with most things related to fertility, it’s important to note that these things take time. Even if the egg was successfully fertilized, it still has to travel to your uterus and implant there, which could take almost a week. It’s important to learn about the symptoms of pregnancy IUI, but it’s also important to be as non-obsessive as possible so you don’t go crazy from stress. But, if you really must know, here are some of the early pregnancy symptoms you might be looking for.

First signs of design after IUI

Pregnancy symptoms can vary greatly from one woman to another. Some women have terrible morning sickness within a week of conceiving, and there are actually some women who still have mild spotting during their pregnancies and may not even find out they’re pregnant until they’re several months old. However, in general, these are some of the most common symptoms of a very early pregnancy:

* Missed period: This is the most obvious symptom, although you can also miss a period due to rapid weight loss or gain and other causes, such as extreme stress. This is not the only important symptom, but it is the one we usually notice first.

*Mild spotting: Sometimes when the egg implants in the uterus, you may experience some light bleeding and cramping. Some women mistake this for their periods, but it can actually be a sign of pregnancy. If you recently had an IUI and these symptoms continue to appear at irregular intervals, you may want to see a doctor.

*Breast Tenderness: Many early pregnancy symptoms, like this one, can also show up as PMS symptoms for some women. However, breast tenderness can be an early sign of pregnancy.

*Fatigue: Most women don’t feel overly tired throughout their pregnancy, but it’s not unusual to feel exhausted in the first few weeks of conception. If you are really dragging after IUI, this could be a symptom of pregnancy.

*Backaches and headaches: For many women, the hormonal and physical changes caused by early pregnancy can cause backaches and headaches.

*Nausea/Morning Sickness – Morning sickness is really a misnomer as some women are sick all the time and others are sicker at night. However, if you feel sick sometimes, it could be a symptom of pregnancy.

It is important to note that the symptoms of an IUI pregnancy are almost the same as the symptoms of a natural pregnancy and all of these symptoms can be related to other things. While you should definitely notice changes in your body and mind during this waiting period, you shouldn’t obsess over these changes. Some of them, like headaches, nausea, and tiredness, can even be stress-induced, so you don’t want to trigger them!

When to test for pregnancy after IUI

Choosing when to take a pregnancy test is vital when you have had an IUI. Whether she shows signs of early pregnancy or not, it is important to get tested about two weeks after insemination. You have to wait that long because, as we said, it can take almost a week for the fertilized egg to implant. After that, the body begins to produce new hormones, which is what a pregnancy test looks for. While a professional lab test might confirm an implantation within a couple of days of pregnancy, a home test needs you to be pregnant for a few days before it will work.

However, even this fourteen-day period can vary. Take the test on the morning of the fourteenth, but don’t miss it if the test is negative. Wait two days and then try one more time. If this test is also negative, you should wait a few more days to see if you get your period. If it doesn’t, make an appointment with your doctor to find out what the problem might be.
